A Leadership Transition at the Diverse Learners Cooperative

DLC community,

We’re writing to share an important update about the next chapter ahead for the Diverse Learners Cooperative.

After founding and leading DLC over the last nine years, Brooke Allen will be closing her time with the organization this summer to begin a school founder role with the Nashville Incubator. DLC began when Brooke saw a critical need: teachers and leaders of diverse learners required better support. What started as one person leaning into that need has become a trusted, high-quality team of coaches and experts forming the DLC — an organization that schools and systems across the state and beyond rely on for the resources, coaching, and best practices that strengthen this practice. We are endlessly grateful, and while we’ll miss her, we’re excited to cheer her on in this next chapter.

With deep confidence in what’s ahead, we’re thrilled to share that Jessica Post will step in as Interim Executive Director beginning this July.

Jess is no stranger to DLC. She has partnered with our team through strategic planning and previous transitions, and she comes to this role already grounded in our mission, our people, and the work we do together. A Knoxville native and University of Tennessee alum, Jess began her career on the ground in Tennessee’s charter school community supporting advocacy, enrollment, and school operations before going on to hold senior leadership roles in district administration and nonprofit management across the country. She understands this community, and she’s ready to help carry DLC’s mission forward.

This is a change in leadership, and a natural next step in DLC’s story. Our mission, our programs, and our commitment to the schools and educators we serve carry forward with the same focus and heart that have always defined this work. Over the coming months, Brooke and Jess will partner closely, alongside our board and team, to make this a smooth transition. Additionally the board will continue a search for DLC’s permanent Executive Director.

On behalf of the board and the entire DLC team, thank you for being part of this community. We’re grateful for your trust, excited about the work ahead, and confident that DLC’s best chapters are still to come.

With gratitude,

Brooke Allen
